HOWARD SCHWARTZBERG

My first set of drawings are writings. There are thirty six drawings in all. I use wordplay and meaning to create visual and emotional form. These drawings are about life, death and universal self-discovery during a period of time as a young artist. After writing each piece, I stepped on them rubbing the dirt from the bottom of my shoes on the surface of the paper. Words are crossed out as if it were a mistake or rethought. The last drawing, not included in the photos, was created with pencil and then erased. All the drawings are untitled.
